| Zymox Otic Enzymatic Solution Hydrocortisone 1% is a biological antimicrobial system that reacts with infected ear debris to eradicate infections of the ear, and used in dogs and cats for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammation of the external ear caused by bacterial, viral and yeast infections. Effective against S. aureus, S. intermedius, S. pyogenes, C. diphtheriae, E. coli, P. mirabilis, P. aeruginosa, C. albicans, and M. pachydermatis. Zymox Otic Enzymatic Solution with 1.0% Hydrocortisone is a biological antimicrobial system that reacts with infected ear debris to eradicate infections of the ear, and used in dogs and cats for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammation of the external ear caused by bacterial, viral and yeast infections. Effective against S. aureus, S. intermedius, S. pyogenes, C. diphtheriae, E. coli, P. mirabilis, P. aeruginosa, C. albicans, and M. pachydermatis. Also helps where antibiotic resistant microorganisms are present and for antibiotic sensitive animals.
Availability:
Zymox Otic with Hydrocortisone is a non-prescription over-the-counter (OTC) product.
How to use:
Apply liberally to fill the ear canal. Gently massage and work into the infected area. Wipe to remove excess medication. Treat once a day for 7 days for acute ear infection, or once a day for 14 days for chronic ear infection. A post treatment flush is recommended. Sloughing off of accumulated dead skin cells may occur. Healthy, pink underlying skin will appear after flushing. Note: For best results do not pre-clean ear. Do not use this product in conjunction with any other topical ear medications or cleaners. Do not allow water in or near ear during treatment. If condition persist or worsens, consult your veterinarian.
