Uses:
Mother’s milk replacer for kittens and food supplement for adult cats containing Colostrum and Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Vet Solutions Kitten Formula a nutritionally complete milk replacer to be fed as a nutritional supplement when the supply of queen’s milk is inadequate or as the sole ration for orphan kittens. When indicated, Kitten Formula may be used to fortify the ration of queens to help meet the increased nutritional requirements in late gestation and early lactation. Whenever possible kittens should receive colostrum (queen’s first milk) for the first 2 days, since this supplies antibodies essential to disease resistance in early life.

Milk Replacer for Kittens is a non-prescription over-the-counter (OTC) product.
How to use:
To make 8 fl oz of ready to use Kitten Formula warm water and shake briskly until all powder is dissolved. Reconstituted solution should be fed at body temperature. Use of a nurser bottle is recommended. Feed kittens at least 2 tablespoons (30 ml) per 4 ounces (113 g) of body weight daily. Divide the daily feeding amount into equal portions for each feeding. For the first 4 days of feeding, the daily amount should be divided into 6 to 8 feedings. The number of feedings can then be gradually reduced to 4 per day (dividing the daily volumes into 4 equal parts). Kittens should be allowed to consume as much formula as they want during each feeding. Stool consistency provides a measure of the appropriate feeding level.
Side effects:
There are no reported side effects.
Precautions:
If diarrhea develops, reduce the concentration of the solution (i.e. maintain water level but reduce the level of Kitten formula by 10-20% until stool consistency returns to normal). Should diarrhea persist, consult a veterinarian for advice. Cleanliness of feeding equipment (nursing bottle/bowl) is extremely important. Always wash with hot, soapy water, rinse and dry well after each use.
Overdose:
Not applicable.
Storage:
Store sealed container at controlled room temperature. Moisture and high temperature will degrade Kitten Formula. Maybe stored indefinitely in the freezer. Do not mix more than will be consumed within 24 hours. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
