Active Ingredients: Imidacloprid; I-[(6-Chloro-3-pyridinyl) methyl]-N-nitro-2-imidazolidinimine 9.1% by weight.
Uses: Advantage is once-a-month topical flea control for the prevention and treatment of flea infestation for Cats and Kittens 8 weeks and older. Provides fast relief and protection by killing 98-100% of the fleas within 12 hours and re-infesting fleas within two hours. One convenient and easy application prevents re-infestation for up to four weeks and remains effective after bathing or swimming.
Availability: Advantage topical flea control is a non-prescription, over-the-counter (OTC) product and available in different package sizes, 4 or 6 month supply. For Cats and Kittens: 9 lbs and Under and 9 lbs and Over.
How to use: Do not get this product in the pet's eyes or mouth. Read the entire package insert for full direction before use. For Cats and Kittens: Part the hair on the cat's neck, at the base of the skull until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and firmly squeeze the tube once or twice to expel the entire contents directly on the skin. Side effects: Due to individual sensitivities, temporary irritation at the site of application and temporary profuse drooling if ingested may occur. Areas where Advantage was applied may appear wet or oily up to 24 hours. If signs will persist, or become more severe, contact your veterinarian immediately.
Precautions: Do not use on cats less than 8 weeks of age. Not recommended for use in pregnant, nursing, debilitated, or geriatric animals. Consult with your veterinarian to determine if other drugs your pet is receiving will not interact with Advantage. Hazard to humans. If in eyes: Flush with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. If on skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water. If swallowed: Call poison control center or doctor immediately.
Overdose: Overdose and adverse effects are very rare. If overdose is suspected contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency hospital.
Storage: Store in a cool and dry place. Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal. Do not reuse container. Place used container in trash or offer for recycling. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
